Verbier High 5

After a few days resting and free skiing in Courcheval I headed over to Verbier to see my brother Mike and for the Carlsberg High 5. The High 5 is a fun event where about 350 people race in 4 events, ski cross, GS, speed trap and a fun “triathlon”.
I ended up fore running for the Professionals in the GS and speed trap before racing a ski cross with Aksel Lund Svindal (Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist) and Didier Defago (Olympic Gold medalist). It was very exciting and slightly bizarre to line up in the start gate between these two legends and was great to race off against them, even if I didn’t come out on top! I was close behind and bottled my chance at an overtake but it was great fun!
Cuche won the mens pro event and Tina Maze the womens (fractionally ahead of Chemmy). Then everyone headed to the bar for the massive after party, but not Chemmy and I as we headed over to Meribel for the British Champs.
