British Slalom, GS and Downhill

With the weather coming in again they decided to move the programme around to make sure we got all the races. So the second race was the slalom, I skied solidly but not my best skiing and was in 4th position after the first run. My second run was again solid but unspectacular, however Andy Noble blew out moving me up to the podium. Noel beat me comfortably but then Dave, who was leading first run, straddled early on in his run moving me up to second place. A big disappointment for my room mate Dave who was going for a hat-trick of slalom titles.

Next up was the GS, the snow wasn’t great and got very bumpy very quickly! I skied a good first run to lead Dave by 0.10 seconds. The second run was even rougher (as top 30 was reversed) but I battled down to take the victory by 0.12 seconds! A great, exciting race for Dave and I! My first GS title!

That night the skies cleared and the pistes froze up perfectly making the downhill possible and great conditions for the race. With my confidence growing I skied well again in the downhill, although had a few small errors but it was enough to win the race! Having been beaten by 0.02 last year I was thrilled to get my first downhill title!
