Christmas and New Year

After Val Gardena I flew home for some time off to recover and rest before it all starts up again in January. I had some very nice time relaxing at home (including a very metrosexual day at a spa!) and seeing friends and family. I had some car trouble (apparently it doesn’t like not being started for seven weeks and it being well below freezing). Unable to get it started we tried bump starting, jump starting and finally replaced the battery. The last worked perfectly to get me to the shops for my very last minute Christmas shopping but somehow turned on the immobiliser I didn’t know I had leaving my car stranded in Clydebank over Christmas!

I flew back out on the 29th from cold, snowy Edinburgh into rainy, warm Munich. We drove down to Austria where there was hardly any snow, only the pistes were white, the rest of the valleys and hills a very spring like green! Despite this we had some great training on the man made snow at Hintereit. New year was a very quiet affair with me back in bed by 12.30! We had a few more good days training, getting some good technical work in on my GS skiing and making my position more solid before we travelled to Wengen for the Europa Cup.
