Norway and Europa cup finals

After a week off at home, I headed back out to Austria for a few days training before the europa cups in Tarvisio, Italy. It was snowing like crazy in Austria but we still managed to get some good training and a great days powder skiing in. Tarvisio didnt go as well as I hoped, small mistakes costing far too much time on the very flat hill. However I put in a good slalom run in the combi to finish 19th.
Next I headed up to Norway for the last regular world cups of the season. What a great course! Lots of little jumps, a few big ones and some pretty unique turns. Sadly the snow conditions weren’t great for the later numbers but I was still reasonably pleased with my skiing and enjoyed the experience and it was good to get some time on a world cup hill.
From Norway we flew straight to Crans Montana for the Europa cup finals. Again the weather was crazy with lots of new snow, meaning the training run was moved back a day and ran on the same day as the race. I skied a great training run going from bib 51 to 10th place. The race however…was not so great! After the top guys the heavens opened and the snow fell thick and fast, slowing the track down and meaning none of the late numbers could get close! A very frustrating day!
Now I am having some rest and doing some training in Italy before the national championships start up. I’m doing the French, then the Slovenians before heading to Meribel for the British. National Champs are normally good for making FIS points so hopefully I can get some good results and improve my start numbers for next season.
